Moments that Matter: Celebrating Our Colleagues
At LUHFT, we are committed to creating a great place to work, where every colleague feels valued, recognised and rewarded, and part of something special. The Recognition of Service policy has always been a key part of our reward and recognition offer.
That’s why we are proud to introduce the Moments that Matter scheme. A refreshed, feedback-led approach to recognising colleagues and ensuring we celebrate significant milestones with you, in the moment, in a way that truly matters.
The journey so far
Following a period of listening and engaging with colleagues at LUHFT, we have heard and acted upon feedback and begun to work towards a new approach to celebrating our people. This includes refreshed and enhanced recognition practices, with some already launched, including, Staff Lottery, Free Tea and Coffee, and providing all colleagues with freebies and goodies which give in the moment thanks and recognition for commitment.
What is included in the Moments that Matter scheme?
The Moment’s that Matter scheme aims to introduce more frequent opportunities for colleagues to be recognised for their contribution and supports the move to more local recognition.
The LUHFT Moments that Matter scheme will include the following:
- Recognition of Service Events: Celebrating significant achievements and recognising years of service through meaningful, tailored events. This means more colleagues will be honoured in special gatherings that bring people together to mark those big, memorable moments to celebrate colleagues reaching 25- and 40-years’ service (as per the previous policy), with the additional recognition for colleagues reaching 50 years of service now being included.
- Milestone Celebrations and ‘in the moment’ recognition: Recognising special moments and achievements with tokens, certificates and gestures which help you feel seen and special in both the big and small moments, at organisational and local level. We will be introducing Pin Badges to denote length of service from 5-years through to 50-years’ service (5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50 years)
- Retirement Celebrations: Continuing to support memorable retirement buffets with a contribution of £50 per eligible colleague; helping to create warm, personalised send-offs that truly honour each individual’s journey and achievements. (more information on our FAQ’s page)
- More Freebies and Perks: You asked for freebies and goodies which helped you to feel valued and recognised for your hard work. We have been working hard to provide freebies for our colleagues, as well as free tea and coffee and will continue to work with our partners to deliver upon this promise.
Why this matters
This initiative is about more than just events, freebies and goodies, it’s about creating a culture of appreciation, strengthening engagement, and recognising the lasting impact our colleagues make every day.
