At Liverpool Women’s we offer a range of clinics to care and support adolescents and young adults with their gynaecological conditions.
General Adolescent Gynaecology
You will be refereed to our general adolescent gynaecology if you have:
- Adolescent menstrual dysfunction
- Heavy/Painful/irregular periods)
- Amenorrhoea (Absent periods)
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
- Concerns regarding genital appearance
- Female Genital mutilation.
Clinic times
Clinics are held on alternate Tuesday afternoons, 1.30pm-5pm. Clinics are both face to face and virtual. There is a consultant, clinical fellow and a consultant nurse every clinic.
Congenital Gynaecological Anomalies (CGA) Clinic
You will be refereed to our CGA clinic if you have differences of sex development, including:
- Androgen insensitivity (complete and partial)
- Swyers syndrome
- Congenital adrenal hyperplasia
- Turner syndrome.
Mullerian duct anomalies, including:
- Imperforate hymen
- Longitudinal vaginal septa
- Transverse vaginal septa
- Obstructed hemi vagina
- Uterus didelphys
- Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser Syndrome (Absent uterus).
Clinic times
Clinics are held every Monday morning, 9am-1pm. Clinics can be face to face and virtual.
There is a consultant, clinical health psychologist and clinical fellow present every week. Individual therapy sessions with the clinical health psychologist are organised outside of this clinic on a Monday to Wednesday.
Vaginal Dilation Clinic
This clinic is a vaginal dilation programme for girls and women who are born without a vagina, or have a narrowed vagina following surgery or radiotherapy, or are having difficulties with tampons or sexual intercourse.
Clinic times
Clinics are held every Tuesday morning, 9am-1pm. Clinics can be face to face or virtual. There is a consultant nurse present in every clinic.
Premature Ovarian Insufficiency Clinic
This clinic is for girls and women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency.
Clinic times
Clinics are held alternate Tuesday afternoons, 1.30pm-5pm. The clinics can be face to face or telephone.
There is a consultant, clinical fellow and consultant nurse present every clinic.
Regional Turner Syndrome MDT Clinic
This clinic is for girls and women in Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales with turner syndrome and its variants.
Clinic times
There are 10 clinics each year on a Monday morning, 9am-1pm. Clinics are all face to face. There is a consultant gynaecologist, consultant cardiologist, clinical health psychologist and clinical fellow in every clinic.
