An apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that allows you to gain a nationally recognised qualification while working in your current role. Apprenticeships are open to all staff – clinical and non-clinical – and can support you to:

Apprenticeships are funded through the NHS apprenticeship levy, meaning there is no cost to you.
We offer a wide range of apprenticeships, from entry-level qualifications to higher-level programmes that support leadership and professional development. Options include:
- Clinical pathways – Healthcare Support Worker, Nursing Associate, Registered Nurse
- Non-clinical pathways – Business Administration, Customer Service, Digital & IT, Finance
- Leadership and management – Team Leader, Coaching Professional, Chartered Manager.
- Any substantive NHS staff member can apply
- You must meet minimum eligibility criteria for the programme
- Apprenticeships require your manager’s support, as they involve protected learning time alongside your role.
