"I am delighted to welcome you to UHLG’s updated and refreshed Learning Prospectus for 2024/25!" CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER - Heather Barnett
As a Trust, we have an ambition to be a great place to learn and work and to provide all of our colleagues with a great experience. We recognise that our employees are critical to improving quality and providing safe and effective clinical care, and we want to ensure that everyone feels supported and encouraged to learn and grow. We are therefore committed to providing you with high quality learning, education and development, so that you are able to realise your full potential.
This directory is the second edition, following on from our very first UHLG Learning Prospectus in 2023/24. The National Staff Survey results from 2023 showed improvements in the theme “We are always learning” and we would like to build on this further. The prospectus outlines and signposts you to a wide range of development opportunities available for Trust colleagues, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to help you to do your job, and also to support your career aspirations. There are also some exciting opportunities available through our local partners and training providers too.
We want to make sure all of our colleagues, professionals, managers and leaders are clear on the development opportunities available to them, which is why we have developed tailored pathways which will make it easier for you to access the most appropriate learning and development to support you in your role.
Please share this prospectus with your colleagues, and when you are considering personal development needs for yourselves and your teams remember not to be limited to formal training sessions, as other methods of development such as coaching, mentoring, shadowing, projects, reading, etc are equally as important.
With best wishes,
Heather Barnett
