The IKON Personal Safety Training programme is looking for staff who may be interested in becoming trainers.

IKON training supports staff with practical skills around personal safety, de-escalation and breakaway techniques when supporting patients who may become distressed, confused or physically challenging.

Over 1,200 staff have now attended IKON training across LUHFT, and demand continues to grow across clinical areas.

We are now seeking expressions of interest from staff who would like to be considered for the next IKON trainer course across the whole Group. Trainers will continue in their substantive roles but will support delivery of sessions throughout the year as part of the wider trainer group.

This may be particularly suitable for staff with an interest in:

  • Staff safety
  • De-escalation
  • Violence prevention and reduction
  • Supporting patients with distress or behaviours of concern
  • Education and practical skills training.
