The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated medical care services at Broadgreen Hospital as Good. This rating is retained from the previous inspection in July 2016.

This Good rating follows an inspection which took place in January 2025 – inspectors rated the service Good in all areas - for being safe, effective, caring, well led and responsive to people’s needs.

CQC inspectors highlighted how the service demonstrated a good learning culture and that patients were treated with kindness and compassion. They also recognised that the service supported people to live healthier lives and reduced the future need for care and support where possible.

Natalie Hudson, Executive Managing Director of Broadgreen Hospital, said: “To achieve another Good rating is an incredible achievement and reflects the hard work of our teams to consistently create an environment that is safe, effective and caters to the needs of our patients. It’s also great to see the positive feedback from patients during the inspection, as well as colleagues saying they feel supported to raise concerns, which is an important part of ensuring our services are safe. The teams should be very proud of this inspection report.”

The report will be available on the CQC’s website here.

This was a focused inspection for medical care services at Broadgreen - the overall rating of the hospital remains Good and the CQC will need to complete an inspection of all core services in order for this to change.
