Studies for pancreas diseases, Acute and Chronic Pancreatitis.

Current trials:

This trial is testing three ways to prevent infections after abdominal surgery. Over 6,000 patients from UK hospitals will help us find the best approach.

This study is testing whether a daily supplement called HMB can improve health in people with advanced cirrhosis. Over 12 weeks, 124 participants will take either HMB or a placebo, with researchers measuring changes in physical function, liver health, quality of life and other health markers to see if HMB is more effective.

This trial tests infliximab, an anti-inflammatory drug given early to reduce damage, aiming to improve outcomes, shorten hospital stays and find links between genes and treatment response.

This trial is comparing two techniques that help the liver grow before surgery to remove colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. The goal is to find out if a newer method (blocking both portal and hepatic veins) works better than the standard approach (blocking the portal vein only) to make surgery safer.

This study will find out whether people are better off having their gallbladder removed after treatment to clear gallstones, or whether it’s just as safe to monitor them without surgery. It will follow patients for two years to compare future health problems, quality of life, and overall outcomes between the two approaches.
