We have introduced Hospital Management Boards at Aintree, the Royal and Liverpool Women's Hospital to give each of our sites greater autonomy and the ability to have increased oversight of their opportunities, risks and issues.

These changes ensure that we have a clear vision of where we want to be, and the leadership capacity, capability and appropriate governance to get us there.

The governance arrangements provide strengthened control, with more decisions made a site level and less escalated to an executive team level, which will enable more rapid decision making.

We operate as one organisation, sharing the same vision and values. Our Executive Team have oversight, making decisions that impact UHL Group, but Hospital Management Boards have devolved control of aspects that enable their effective running and ability to respond.

The Executive Managing Directors of each Hospital Management Board are voting members of the Group Board, which maintains the connectivity between the Board and each site.
