Dr Bhavna Pandya, Consultant Nephrologist and Physician at NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group, was a finalist in the Inspiring Indian Women: She Inspires Awards.

Dr Pandya was presented with a runner-up award in recognition of her outstanding clinical and voluntary work.

Dr Pandya has worked in the NHS for 30 years and in that time has helped thousands of patients.

Since 2009, Dr Pandya has organised World Kidney Day health checks across Liverpool’s hospitals and communities, which have uncovered countless underlying medical conditions and saved several lives.

Alongside her role as a clinician, Dr Pandya also serves as a Staff Governor and is the founder of three charities which support with kidney health, mental health and organ donation.

Dr Pandya said: “It fills me with such joy to know that I am inspiring other women to pursue their talents and fulfil their goals.

“I pride myself on my work and always strive to provide the best care to my patients, and mentorship to colleagues. For this to be recognised is a huge honour.”
