Our Alcohol Care Team provides specialist expertise care and support during a individual’s attendance at our Emergency Department (ED) or admitted as an inpatient. This includes individuals with alcohol dependence, as well as those presenting with acute intoxication or alcohol‑related complications such as withdrawal seizures and Delirium Tremens.
We aim to provide confidential, non – judgemental, professional and accessible support which aims to reduce the harm caused by alcohol to individuals, families and the local community.

Patients can be referred to the Alcohol Care Team via:
- Following a hospital admission
- From other specialist doctors within the hospital
- Patients can also self refer by telephone.
